چکیده

Silica xerogels containing Sm ions and SnO2 nanocrystals were prepared in a sol–gel process. The image of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) shows that the SnO2 nanocrystals are dispersed in the silica matrix. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) of the sample confirms the tetragonal phase of SnO2. The xerogels containing SnO2 nanocrystals and Sm 3+ ions display the characteristic emission of Sm ions (G5/2 fi HJ (J = 5/2, 7/2, 9/2)) at the excitation of 335 nm which energy corresponds to the energy gap of the SnO2 nanocrystals, while no emission of Sm 3+ ions can be observed for the samples containing Sm ions. The enhancement of the Sm emission is probably due to the energy transfer from SnO2 nanocrystals to Sm 3+ ions.

Gilded nanoparticles for plasmonically enhanced fluorescence in TiO2:Sm3+ sol-gel films

UNLABELLED Silica-gold core-shell nanoparticles were used for plasmonic enhancement of rare earth fluorescence in sol-gel-derived TiO2:Sm3+ films. Local enhancement of Sm3+ fluorescence in the vicinity of separate gilded nanoparticles was revealed by a combination of dark field microscopy and fluorescence spectroscopy techniques. An intensity enhancement of Sm3+ fluorescence varies from 2.5 to ...

Hydrothermal synthesis, characterization and catalytic performance of La3+ and Sm3+ - doped Bi2Mn2O7 nanocatalysts for Biginelli reactions

La3+ and Sm3+ - doped Bi2Mn2O7 nanocatalysts were synthesized in 1 M NaOH aqueous solution, via a stoichiometric 1:1 Bi:Mn molar ratio hydrothermal method at 180 °C for 48 h. Bi(NO3)3, MnO2, La(NO3)3 and Sm2O3 were used as raw materials. The synthesized nanomaterials were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) technique. Both of the La3+ and Sm3+ - doped Bi2Mn2O7 nanomaterials were cr...

Ag+-induced photoluminescence enhancement in lanthanide post-functionalized MOFs and Ag+ sensing.

The robust gallium carboxylate Ga(OH)(btec)·0.5H2O (MIL-61) is selected as a parent MOF to prepare Ln-MIL-61 by PSM. This work investigates the luminescence of Ln-doped MIL-61 (Ln = Eu3+, Tb3+, Sm3+, Dy3+) in the visible light region. Upon 314 nm excitation, the emission spectra of Eu-MIL-61, Tb-MIL-61 and Eu/Tb-MIL-61 all exhibit their respective strong sharp emission bands. However, Sm-MIL-61...

On the flexural properties of multiscale nanosilica/E-glass/epoxy anisogrid-stiffened composite panels

In the present study, multiscale nanosilica/E-glass/epoxy anisogrid composite panels were investigated for flexural properties as a function of nanosilica loading in the matrix (0, 1, 3 and 5 wt.%). The surface of the silica nanoparticles was firstly modified with 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (3-GPTS). The fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy revealed that the organic functional ...
